Getting to Groningen
By train
Groningen has a well-connected train station, making it easily accessible from other Dutch cities. The train from Amsterdam takes about 2 hours and offers scenic views along the way.
By car
You can reach Groningen by car via the A28 or A7 highways. Note that the city center is largely car-free and parking there can be expensive. Consider using one of the park-and-ride (P+R) lots on the city outskirts for cheaper parking.
Getting around in Groningen
Groningen’s compact center is easily explored on foot or by bike. The city has excellent cycling infrastructure and you can rent OV-fiets bikes at the station. Qbuzz city buses also connect the main spots in and around Groningen.
